On 14 June 2026, Aarhus will once again set the stage for a major running celebration, as thousands of runners take over the city streets. In 2026, it will be the 13th time Aarhus Motion hosts the half marathon in Aarhus, while also marking the 10th time BESTSELLER is the main sponsor of the race.
Aarhus comes alive when the city centre is closed off and filled with runners and enthusiastic spectators. In 2025, the race was completely sold out with 12,500 participants and around 50,000 spectators, creating a truly special atmosphere.
Look forward to an experience where you are carried forward by first-class entertainment, sightseeing on the run and outstanding support from the people of Aarhus.
MORE THAN 60 ENTERTAINMENT SPOTS
We turn up the music, dance, cheer and support you all the way, so you almost forget about time and kilometres.
Along the route, you’ll experience everything from cheerleaders and brass bands to power zones with DJs delivering the perfect beat for your run.
BESTSELLER Aarhus City Half is the race in Denmark with the most entertainment along the route.
One thing is certain: you definitely won’t get bored! With more than 60 entertainment spots along the 21.0975 km route, all your senses will be activated.
Uniquely, we also have a Tour Caravan, inspired by the major cycling races.
It drives ahead of the runners and creates excitement among the approx. 50,000 spectators, getting them ready to cheer you on and give you extra energy along the route.

Would you and your association like to help create the atmosphere at BESTSELLER Aarhus City Half – while also boosting your club funds?
As a race official with Aarhus Motion, you become part of the community that makes Aarhus’ biggest half marathon possible. Help is needed before, during and after the race, with a wide range of tasks: from preparing race numbers and setting up the event area to guiding runners along the route, handing out medals at the finish line and staffing the cloakroom. There are many different tasks to be done.
Each year, Aarhus Motion supports associations in East Jutland with more than DKK 4 million, and your efforts as officials are an important part of that contribution.
You can also get involved year-round across Aarhus Motion’s events, giving you great opportunities to both raise money for your association and become part of a strong community.

A CITY IN MOTION – A ROUTE IN A CLASS OF ITS OWN
What defines BESTSELLER Aarhus City Half is its urban route, where thousands of spectators create an amazing atmosphere all the way through the city. Aarhus is a city full of energy, and you will feel it clearly as you take on the 21.0975 km.
At BESTSELLER Aarhus City Half, you will experience the very best the city has to offer. Iconic landmarks such as ARoS Art Museum, Musikhuset and Aarhus City Hall Tower can be enjoyed in relaxed surroundings in the start and finish area. From here, the route takes you past several of Aarhus’ attractions, including Aarhus Cathedral, Dokk1, Mindeparken and Aarhus Ø.
